Stocks of various companies have their own code in the stock exchange which they use to trade. Usually it is either a short form or an acronym of the company’s name or some initials. If you have invested in certain companies, then you need to know what their stock exchange name is. This is unique, and they use the same name for all the stock exchanges. With the help of internet you can actually find a particular stock by its stock exchange name or the company name. If you see any news channel, they will be running the value of stocks by its name and the amount at the bottom of the screen. This is called the ticker. A ticker displays the list of stocks and their prices in the stock exchange. Be accustomed with the ticker as it is the shorter and the easier way to tell how the stock is performing in the stock markets. The stock markets overall performance are indicated by Sensitive Index points. If the points go up, then it usually means that the markets are doing well. However, if the points go down, then the markets are bad.
The stock market is open during the day time and the markets close in the evening or late noon.
