If it is found that the whistle blowing act was genuine, then a case is filed against the accused.Every company has the ethical responsibility to conduct their business affairs in a fair way and in compliance with law. If any of their actions hurt a single person or the consequences are found to be damaging, then the whistleblowers may choose to act against it. Some companies voluntarily invite whistle blowers so that they can keep a watch on their own employees. For example, an advertisement that says “report any incidents of rash driving to so and so number” found on a school bus or a transport vehicle is a typical act of whistle blowing.
Any illegal acts such as bribery, harassment, misuse of government or public property, discrimination or denial can be reported through whistle blowing. However, whatever you are reporting should be true and there should be a real cause behind it. There are several agencies with work with whistleblowers and bring the miscreants under prosecution. There are many more categories where a person can choose to report like economic waste, not performing duty, fraud and coercion. Also, one should know that every State has its own whistle blower protection act and if the person fighting the right cause wishes to be anonymous, they can do so.
