According to a survey conducted by the Bureau of Labor, show that certain white-collar jobs averaged $21.85 per hour, and these were the highest paid jobs in the country. The careers with the highest pay usually require a four-year college degree.
Here is a list of the top 12 careers with the highest pay according to a survey conducted by the Employment Policy Foundation:
- Physicians and surgeons
- Aircraft pilots
- Chief Executives
- Electrical and electronic engineers
- Lawyers and judges
- Dentists
- Pharmacists
- Management analysts
- Computer and information system managers
- Financial analysts, managers and advisors
- Marketing and sales managers
- Education administrators
The above mentioned occupations require advanced college degrees. There are also high paying jobs that do not require high school diploma and they are as follows:
- Industrial production managers
- Bailiffs, correctional officers and jailers
- Drafters
- Construction managers
- Electricians
However, there is no doubt that you will earn more money if you have a college education. A person who has a professional degree is expected to earn $3 million over the course of his working life. In contrast, a person without a high school diploma will end up earning less than $1 million over his working life.
