According to a survey conducted by the Bureau of Labor, show that certain white-collar jobs averaged $21.85 per hour, and these were the highest paid jobs in the country. The careers with the highest pay usually require a four-year college degree.

Here is a list of the top 12 careers with the highest pay according to a survey conducted by the Employment Policy Foundation:

  • Physicians and surgeons
  • Aircraft pilots
  • Chief Executives
  • Electrical and electronic engineers
  • Lawyers and judges
  • Dentists
  • Pharmacists
  • Management analysts
  • Computer and information system managers
  • Financial analysts, managers and advisors
  • Marketing and sales managers

The above mentioned occupations require advanced college degrees. There are also high paying jobs that do not require high school diploma and they are as follows:

  • Industrial production managers

A person who has a professional degree is expected to earn $3 million over the course of his working life. In contrast, a person without a high school diploma will end up earning less than $1 million over his working life.
