Women face discrimination on multiple levels in their career.Sex discrimination is a major problem, and several women get sidelined when it comes to promotions and newer job profiles. As women grow older, they start receiving fewer promotions and also are denied several prospects of betterment like management training and so on. This is experienced on a day to day basis by women in several companies. The employer does not specify that it is because of the gender or the age that they are getting sidelined. Also, the labor department claims that a women can make only 78 cents where as a man can make a dollar. So, women are always paid less than men in several similar job roles.
Women get sidelined because of the family responsibility they have to shoulder and they face several limitations to fulfill their job requirements. For example, if a job involves traveling too much, then a married woman is given fewer chances or no chances at all for the job. Even though women are not blatantly harassed, there have been several citations in the job industry where the discrimination is quite evident against women even in this modern society. Once a woman reaches 35, then she automatically feels the decline in her career.
