With high gas prices, the cost of living has sky rocketed. Everything we need, including the basics, have increased in price because of high gas prices. Most goods in America are transported by road and with increase in gas prices, everything has become very expensive.
Americans can no longer sit back and pay for things. Everyday there are new petitions being signs by thousands of people demanding a reduction in gas prices so that ordinary people can sustain themselves. Some petitions are even requesting people not to purchase any gasoline for a single day as they think this will drive down the prices.
Gas prices should be lowered so that parents can drive their kids safely to school, buy groceries and maintain their household budget. In addition, because of the increase in gas prices, many people have cancelled their summer vacation plans. This is having a ripple effect. It is not just the people who are suffering but also the hospitality industry and the airlines, who are already beleaguered because 9/11. The real estate market is affected because of increased gas prices.
With all these valid reasons there is a need to lower the gas prices immediately otherwise the repercussions will be felt across the board.
